The Lehigh Gorge State Park has a 26-mile long bike trail that starts below several of the River Cabins and runs 26 miles South along the Lehigh River to the next town of Jim Thorpe (called the "Switzerland of PA" - very quaint with shops, restaurants and live music). The trail continues South of Jim Thorpe too, as well as extends North of White Haven.
Access the trail at the trail head entrances in White Haven or at Tannery Road (bridge over the river) also in White Haven.
If you stay in one of the River cabins, you can bike from the cabin 26 miles South to Jim Thorpe!
Bring your own bikes, or you can rent bikes from Pocono Biking (1-800-whitewater) a 1/4 mile up the bike path from some of the cabins at the top of the trail in White Haven and they have shuttles too if you bike down and want to be shuttled back up...
12 mile trip to Rock Port, or do the full 26 mile trip to Jim Thorpe.
The trail is beautiful, lots of streams, waterfalls and Mountain Laurels (aka Rhododendrons which bloom in July) on one side and the river on the other. In the Spring, Summer and Fall, you'll see the whitewater rafters on the river!
It’s wonderful!
